Turtles everywhere

As I stepped out the back basement door I nearly landed on Mr. Turtle. He quickly sought cover in his shell and I popped right back in the door! I quickly realized he was completely harmless and went about my pumping duties after another big rain spell left standing water where the plumbing lines come out of the house. Mr. Turtle went on his way seeking some peace and quiet in the back yard someplace. It's rare to drive someplace and not see these little guys on the road slowly making their way across this time of year.

Petit Jean Park

Cedar Falls. Our early morning hike before the holiday crowds began to arrive and fill the park.

Taken from the bridge.
Can you get a feel for how high up I was to take this picture?
With all the rain we have had in the last few weeks I was very surprised how little water was coming over the Falls and in the river.

A close-up view of the waters edge.

This particular part of the hike was smooth and wide....much that we hiked was rocky and steep. I loved it!

Youth Activity -

Early Saturday morning we set out for a hike for our week day activity . Rain was in the forecast but the day was nearly perfect for us. You can see many of our group lingering down below me. Some made it to the Falls fast some were still on their way down. They enjoyed cooling their feet in the water before we headed back up the hill. Delightful!!

These gals went behind the Falls.

Moving in.....

No, we are not yet moving in but someone else seems to have taken to the place. I found this little guy in the house recently while sweeping. Not sure how he got in other than he appears to be a tree frog who can also climb walls. I was surprised he let me take his picture this close up.

Jenna and Cory welcome Treyson

T-Ell, Papa Joe and Maime gathered to welcome our beautiful new addtion; Treyson Kelly, born May 1st. He is pure delight. Proud parents Cory and Jenna. Munch is very curious yet has been extremely cautious and even seems concerned when he cries.

Love those lips and his perfect little features.

Treyson napping as we eat a bite at the dinner table.

Honestly...we can't get enough of him!

Leaving Colorado

It's inevitable....having to say 'good-bye' to our sweet children and now grand children. I never am going to get good at it. Jenna asked if I wanted to hold Treyson one LAST time before I head home. Are you kidding???? He is incredibly sweet and nothing feels as good as holding a tiny newborn. We LOVE these new babies! Sure enjoyed our time with Jenna, Cory and Treyson. On the way to the airport...he wasn't quite as torn up about my pending departure as I was. What a blessing he seems to travel so well in the car and looks sooo precious doing it.

On the runway about to take off, one last look back.

Just left Dallas and heading north as the sun goes down.
